Meet November's Artist Discovery: TALL HEIGHTS
Meet Paul Wright and Tim Harringtion, also known as TALL HEIGHTS. We discovered this up and coming duo and are very excited to share their sophomore album “Pretty Colors For Your Actions” with our club members as the Artist Discovery this month!
The potency of their sound cannot be credited to harmony alone, but rather a unique union of two distinct voices that makes the music inarguably their own. We had the privilege of asking them a few questions. Find out what they said!
What was the first album you ever owned on vinyl?
Tim: Moody Blues , Days of Future Passed
Paul: Jesus Christ Superstar
Who is the first artist you remember listening to?
I grew up with classical music in the house, so the first band I remember listening to is Green Day Dookie on the school bus.
What is the best live show you’ve seen?
We’ve gotten to tour with Ben Folds and Judah and the Lion recently. They put on very different shows, but they’re both incredible performers, able to captivate their audience and command the stage from downbeat to encore. We’ve learned a lot from them.
What are some of the things you have to have on the road with you?
We’re in the process of decorating our new ban, Spirit of Beverly. We’ve got some wood burning of our pets on the wall, a dream catcher hanging from the rearview, and a giant Colorado state flag on the wall (Tim’s favorite state flag). And lots of Palo Santo incense to keep the crowded van smelling good.
Who is the most inspiring person you’ve ever met?
I think we’d both say our grandparents.
What is the craziest thing that happened to you on the road?
Getting to tour overseas is still a total dream. Playing in the King’s Hall in Norway, and castles in Austria, sharing beers with locals in small towns in Bavaria, getting a glimpse of life in Russia, I know we’ll always hold onto these memories.
What album is on repeat?
Tim: Radiohead, The Bends
Paul: Joni Mitchell, Blue
